Guy Stanway - C.E.O

Having worked for 20 years seeing most aspects of what must surely be one of the most exciting industries in the world, I have learnt that the most important thing is ‘The end result’.

Zy Records was formed based on this principle and as our name implies, we are all about turning the whole musical alphabet backwards if necessary to create precisely that.

With his Father being a very successful Jazz drummer, Guy’s whole family were immersed in music so it is with great passion that he undertakes his day to day tasks of running a record label.

Guy’s career began running recording studios which soon progressed into management seeing his artists working and performing UK/World tours with such acts as ‘Go West’ - ‘Culture Club’ - ‘UB40’ - ’Magnum’ - ‘Thin Lizzy’ & ‘Whitesnake’ . With a wealth of experience behind him and the digital age apparent, Guy and his daughter Lisa felt the timing was perfect for the formation of a progressive indie label that could react quickly to the ever changing market place. ZY Records Ltd was formed in 2006.
 

Lisa Stanway - Managing Director

Lisa handles many day to day aspects of the business and like many indie labels her position demands that she covers much ground in her capacity which includes A & R, Video Storyboards, Press / PR Commissioning, Single Campaigns and Tour Organisation.

Lisa recently completed the ‘Chipmunk’ UK tour and the ‘Mr Hudson’ UK tours as TM with ZY artist ‘Tenny Ten’ who she has worked closely with since his signing to the label.

Proving music really is in the blood, Lisa is also an accomplished songwriter and has tracks on two forthcoming albums. Lisa recently had a No 2 record in the Baltic States with a song which she co-wrote.
 

Toni Nijm - Legal Affairs

Toni is the founder, President and CEO of Swedish based group ‘Ipendo’, one of the Worlds leading providers of Intellectual Property Solutions and services. Ipendo have offices in Sweden, Amsterdam and San Diego and operate internationally for their blue chip client base.

With a proven track record in creating opportunity and market penetration, Toni entered the music industry in 2010 managing the incredibly talented writing and production team N.U.M. (Nuthin’ Under a Million) Music Group based in Los Angeles. Through his work with N.U.M and recommendation, Toni became aware of UK based ZY Records. Toni immediately connected with ZY and in no time a great collaboration between both teams was established and massive records were soon created.

The great potential Toni saw in the ZY team soon led to the discussions about co-ownership and in March 2011 Toni became a major shareholder in ZY Records Ltd and ZY Holdings Ltd and will be assisting the already strong team in producing global hits for years to come. Apart from the collaboration with NUM, Toni brings with him his wealth of experience in business development, marketing and legal affairs which will serve the new partnership well. Proving he really is the smart one of the bunch, Toni also holds an M.Sc. in Applied Physics & Electrical Engineering
 

Sharon Dean - Publishing Affairs

Sharon joined the ZY Records team in 2011 and brings with her a wealth of experience.

Sharon was Director of Licensing at PRS for 10 years before deciding to form her own publishing company, Respect Music, of which she is the Founder and Director.

In addition Sharon is a Board Director of AIM (Association of Independent Music) and Executive Director (Int'l) of LA based NARIP.

Gary Stevenson - Record Producer

Gary has been directly involved with over 30 UK top 20 hit records, a Billboard No 1 (USA) and has had his success acknowledged by the BPI commending his achievements as a record producer.

Gary’s first success came from Producing the debut album and subsequent hit singles for Chrysalis Records UK act ‘Go-West’ who have since gone on to sell in excess of 20 Million records worldwide.
Gary has produced No 1 albums and records all over the world and has worked with a host of award winning performers including: - Go West – Rick Astley – Bros – Fast Food Rockers – Spandau Ballet – The Jones Gang – Asia – Simon Townshend – Zucherro – Sean Maguire and many others. Gary has also had his productions featured on the movie sound tracks ‘Pretty Woman’, ‘Rocky 4’ as well as producing the sound for the Radio City Music Hall and West End theatre production of ‘Dancing on Dangerous Ground’.

Gary works closely with all ZY's artists, utilising his superior vocal recording skills to help them achieve a unique quality to their music.

Gary has worked with CEO Guy on and off for the last 20 years and ZY are proud to list Gary within their close knit team.

ZY’s latest whizz kid producer hails from a Bedfordshire lazy backwater but don’t let that fool you for one minute. Rich has been gaining constant underground attention producing many genres of music for the last 10 years with his very first album for Genesis Elijah receiving critical acclaim.
