Born into a successful musical family Tenny Ten spent most of his youth backstage at his parents’ concerts, observing in the recording studio or watching them both on TV. His future was shaped and he started writing and performing at the age of 10.
Tenny writes contagious melodies combined with intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics – approaching subjects untouched by most. His larger-than-life live performance is faultless and the charisma he displays within moments of hitting the stage is unrivalled. Previous gigs include: The VIP reception at the 2008 MOBO Awards; the Carlton TV awards, support gig for the Sugababes & JLS; Jools Holland’s ‘Jamhouse’; The Birmingham ‘Barfly’; Lydiard Park & Donnington in addition to countless TV appearances in the Baltic States (January 09 no.2 collaboration) .
He has recently had the biggest and most respected UK hip hop magazine ‘Hip Hop Connection’ announce on a 2 page spread that, “If magical talent has any influence on success then Tenny (aka 10Shott) is the future of UK rap” . Radio 1’s Tim Westwood played a drop Tenny did for him and said on air, “You can tell you’re big in the game when you get sent drops like this” .
Tenny signed to ZY Records in 2008 and he immediately began work on his stunning new album – the aptly named ‘2010Shott’ – which is due for release in Spring 2010.
With 2 albums ready to go, a Japanese release due in January, a limited edition 12” vinyl taster of ‘Designer Girl’ due out in October ’09 and a fully supported UK single (the breathtaking anthemic track ‘Swagnificent) dropping in January, 2010 will literally prove to be the year of the 10.
